Dr. Kathryn Smerling

Dr. Kathryn Smerling is a dynamic and collaborative psychotherapist. Working with clients and their families in all transitory and crises phases of life, Dr. Smerling specializes in helping to create healthy and meaningful relationships. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Smerling is nationally known as a regular contributor to CNN, HLN, and Fox News. She has also contributed to ABC News in New York, USA Today, and Vanity Fair. Dr. Smerling completed her PH.D. from Fordham University. She received her first Masters from Cornell, her second from New York University in Social Work and advanced training in both analytic and family. She continued her studies in the Extern Program at The Ackerman Institute for the Family and the National Institute for Psychotherapies (NIP). Dr. Smerling currently serves as a clinical instructor at Mount Sinai in the department of OBGYN and on the Dean’s Council at the New York University School of Social Work.
